A pillar of Polish military aviation
The MiG-21MF is an export version of the Soviet third-generation fighter jet, equipped with an R-13-300 engine and RP-22 radar. The first MiG-21s arrived in Poland in 1963, during a period of intensifying rivalry between East and West. The aircraft quickly became a pillar of Polish military aviation, and deliveries of the MiG-21MF version between 1972 and 1975 introduced as many as 120 units into service, which remained in use until 2003.
The MF version represented a significant modernization: a new radar, an improved engine, the ability to carry R-60 air-to-air missiles and a larger fuel capacity. Thanks to this, the MiG-21MF was not only fast and maneuverable, but also exceptionally dangerous in air combat, both in Poland and in other Eastern Bloc countries. The aircraft participated in numerous conflicts around the world, including in the Middle East (Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Israel), in Africa (Uganda, Tanzania), in Asia (Vietnam, Indo-Pakistani wars) and in South America (Cuba).
Why build a MiG-21MF model?
381 elements – the set consists of precisely made bricks that reproduce the key elements of the aircraft: from the characteristic silhouette of the fuselage, through the air intake, to the armament and details of the landing gear.
Prints with Polish and Soviet markings – the elements allow you to build both the Polish (PRL) and Soviet versions. All insignia, numbers and symbols are durable, printed directly on the bricks which eliminates the need for stickers and provides a realistic collector's effect.
Realistic functionality – the model has movable control surfaces, detachable wheels and a reproduced jet engine flame, allowing you to recreate take-off, flight and landing scenes. Under the wings are replicas of R-3S missiles. These are Soviet short-range air-to-air guided missiles, a copy of the American AIM-9B Sidewinder missile.
Reproduced regimental emblem – On the front of the fuselage there is a drawing of a black dragon with a lightning bolt in its hand and a shield in the form of a chessboard. This is an accurately reproduced emblem of the 10th Fighter Aviation Regiment in Łask, where MIG-21 MF aircraft served.
