About AK Interactive paints

AK Interactive's 3rd Generation acrylics come in 17ml dropper bottles for brush painting, with dedicated Air versions ready for the airbrush and colour sets themed for vehicles, aircraft and figures. Real Colours are lacquer-based acrylics matched to historical military colours, giving a tough, smooth airbrushed finish. Alongside paint, AK is known for weathering products, washes and pigments.

The picker lists AK paints in code order, and you can compare their shades with other brands by colour.

AK Interactive paint questions

What's the difference between 3rd Generation and Real Colours?

3rd Generation is a water-based acrylic range designed mainly for brushing, with Air versions for the airbrush. Real Colours are lacquer-based, mostly airbrushed and need their own thinner and good ventilation.

Can I airbrush AK 3rd Generation paints?

The Air versions are ready to spray. The standard bottles can be airbrushed once thinned with AK's own thinner.

What should I thin Real Colours with?

Use AK's Real Colours thinner; they are not designed to be thinned with water.
