Designed for high-speed express passenger service, the Bo'Bo'-configured E 10 combined strong performance with reliability and versatility, helping modernise Germany’s electrified main lines.\nBuilt between 1956 and 1969, a total of 416 locomotives emerged from major builders including Krupp, Henschel and Krauss-Maffei, with electrical equipment from Siemens, AEG and BBC. Early units carried the E 10 designation, but in 1968 the entire class was renumbered Class 110 under Deutsche Bundesbahn’s new system, reflecting its role as the backbone of fast passenger operations.\nCapable of 150 km\/h and producing around 3,700 kW, the Class E 10 excelled on expresses and later regional trains.
