Established in 1786, Thomas Wall’s father, Richard opened his first shop in St. James’s Market, London. He quickly earned an enviable reputation as a pork butcher and word of his superb quality cuts of meat and delicious pork sausages soon reached the Royal Household. In 1812, Richard Wall received his first Royal Appointment as ‘Pork Butcher to the Prince of Wales’. By 1834, a series of further Royal Appointments followed for Richard Wall’s descendents from King George III, Queen Victoria, King Edward VII, King George IV and King George V. The Walls brand and its accompanying Crown mark were prominent sights on billboards and delivery vehicles in pre- and post-wartime England, as modeled.
